For this year's opening salvo of 7-Questions, Louie (http://www.nomadperspectives.com/) and I would like to take you to the magical, the serene and the utterly beautiful province of South Cotabato.
My friends from South Cotabato in Southern Philippines, are organizing a trek to Lake Holon on August 19-20, 2012. The event is called 'Takladtamig Dos,' which means 'let us climb, my friend' or something to that effect, in Hiligaynon.
Project Socsargen brought me and my churchmates to 2 provinces (South Cotabato, Sarangani), 2 cities (Koronadal, General Santos) and 3 municipalities (Polomolok, Tboli and Glan) in South Central Mindanao or Region XII.
I wonder where the statue of the Gen. Paulino is pointing to. Why is he pointing towards the south or to the sea, and not towards the north where there are more lands to conquer?
If given another opportunity, I still would like to trek Mt. Parker again albeit on a lesser known but challenging trail. I also would like to swim across the icy waters of Lake Holon until I could not longer suspend my imagination of creatures that may be swimming beneath me.
