A Peanuts-kind-of Happy Meal

McDonalds Happy Meal - Snoopy and Charlie Brown and friends

The Peanuts Movie was finally shown in the Philippines only this January, thanks of course to the MMFF. This delay hopefully did not dampen the excitement of the fans of both Charlie Brown and Snoopy. But if it’s any indication, some of my friends were still excited when they got to watch the movie over the weekend. Maybe it was largely because of the nostalgia for Peanuts, Charles M. Schulz’s iconic comic strip which has ended its successful run in 2000.

I am more of a Garfield person actually. But I remember that Peanuts was one of the first literature that I read back in the day. This goes without saying that I am thrilled to watch the movie soon, probably end up buying a comic book afterwards and collect a few McDonald’s Happy M eal toys which now features some of the comic strip’s characters – Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Linus, Sally and Woodstock.

McDonalds Happy Meal - Snoopy and Charlie Brown

So you could imagine my smile when after I returned from a 2-week vacation, an unassuming small package was already waiting for me. It contained the new Snoopy and Charlie Brown Happy Meal toys that I mentioned earlier.

I’ve been told that one can also pre-order the complete set. But after December 18, you’ll have to start collecting all the 10 toys individually, including this magnetically Spinning Snoopy which is my personal favorite because it reminded me of a college project.

If you’re a fan of the world’s beloved beagle, you can still catch the Snoopy movie in theaters this week. And while you’re at it, drop by any McDonald’s branch and then grab some adorable Snoopy toy for your little ones and even for yourself as well.
